Frequently asked questions
Is tell.men a helpline?
No. tell.men is a daily quote website and an anonymous community for men. It is not a crisis service and nobody monitors it in real time. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call your local emergency number or one of the helplines on this page.
What should I do if I am thinking about suicide right now?
Call your local emergency number (112 in the EU) or a crisis helpline straight away, and tell someone near you. If you can, stay with another person and move away from anything you could use to hurt yourself. You do not need to be sure how serious it is to ask for help.
Do helplines cost money?
Many of the lines listed here are free to call, but this can depend on your country, phone plan and operator. Check the website of the line if you are unsure. In an emergency, always call the emergency number.
Are helplines only for people in crisis?
No. You can call when you feel low, anxious, lonely, overwhelmed or just need to talk to someone who will listen without judging. You do not have to be in crisis to call.
What is The Circle?
The Circle is an anonymous place on tell.men where men share what they are carrying and what has helped. There are no names or profiles, posts are moderated, and it is peer support, not professional help.
My country is not listed. Where can I find a helpline?
Call your local emergency number, and use the free directory at findahelpline.com, which lists verified helplines in most countries.
